Work at Home Opportunities On the Internet, Part 2

(Continued from Part 1, 11/06/02)
Contributing Writer: Robin NoblesLet's continue looking for full- or part-time work opportunities on the Internet.
Do you enjoy computer work? Have you ever considered getting into Web design? The Net offers many free online tutorials that will teach you HTML, which is the programming language of the Web. Once you've completed your training, start out slowly by approaching area businesses that might be interested in putting up a Web site. http://www.searchengineworkshops.com/html-lesson.html
Software companies often hire folks to work in technical support, and those folks can sometimes be located anywhere. Many of the major search engine and directories hire editors to keep their indices in top-notch shape. Visit sites in areas that interest you, and look for a "job openings" link. You never know what you might find.
Another excellent "work at home" career is search engine optimization. Search engine optimization is simply the art or science of boosting your chances at achieving top rankings in the search engine and directories. There are millions and millions of Web sites, but few people know how to get traffic to their site. One of the best and least expensive ways is through search engine optimization. If you get into Web design, then learn search engine optimization as a "value added" service to your customers. Or, work as a professional SEO separately. Like Web design, this career can be full- or part-time, and you can generally live in your own location and work from home. Read this article that offers information on where you can seek training in search engine marketing strategies. http://www.searchengineworkshops.com/articles/WorkHome.html
Once you've learned how to set up a Web site and how to achieve top rankings for that site, consider joining affiliate programs and bring in additional revenue that way. Many people make quite a lot of money through affiliate programs. A simplified way of explaining what affiliate programs are is to say that affiliates are simply resellers of a company's products, where you earn a percentage of all sales that you send to the company. Amazon.com has a huge affiliate program, and you've probably seen links to Amazon on numerous sites across the Web.
