The Latino HIV Task Force, a group of health agencies and community organizations, will offer free HIV testing June 27 as part of National HIV Testing Day.

Testing will be available at Clinica Santa Cruz, 8345 Long Point; Galena Park Community Building, 1302 Keene Street; Greenspoint Mall, 12300 North Freeway and Las Americas Apartments, 5909 Glenmont Drive from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Houston Police Department has begun a public service campaign to fight domestic abuse. The bilingual campaign will target men, in an attempt to stop violent behavior.

Billboards have already gone up. I hope that the campaign is going to be more than jut billboard, that it's going to be an honest commitment to take these cases seriously.

We invite your children between the ages of 6 and 12 years old to join us this summer at the Flor Y Canto Summer Art Camp at Talento Bilingüe de Houston. Your children will have the opportunity to perform in a children's production that will be presented at the end of the summer program. Under the supervision of lead instructors, Maria and Jesus Lozano, children are taught dance, music, theatre arts and filmmaking.

Activities begin June 20th and end on July 29th, 2005, Monday through Friday. Art instruction begins at 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with early drop-offs and late pick-ups are available beginning at 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Board games and arts & craft will be provided between 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Field trips to museums and parks are also schedule on "Fun Fridays".

Local elementary students raised more than $25,000 in an effort to reduce infant mortality and improve the health of babies through the March of Dimes Reading Champions program.

Students from 22 Pasadena schools participated in the fundraiser, reading a total of 32,923 books during the four-week event.

Pasadena park pools are holding Swim Lessons thru July 28, 2005. The "two-week sessions are offered throughout the summer for children and adults at different skill levels. Sessions are $30 for residents, $35 for non residents of Pasadena. For more information, call 713-948-0322."

Deer Park's Center Stage is holding a Drama camp, June 20-24 and July 11-22. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. "Slightly Off Center Players is offering summer drama camps for youth 6-16. Tuition is $100. Space is limited." Center Stage is located at 4201 Center St. in Deer Park behind Hellyer Transmission. The Deer Park AARP Chapter 3766 is holding a meeting on June 20, 2 p.m. Visitors The meeting will be held at the East Harris County Activity Center, located at 7340 Spencer Highway in Pasadena.

Hal-PC Senior learning provides hands-on technology training for seniors. Computer Investing training will be held on July 1, 1 p.m. at 400 Medical Center Blvd. Suite 210. "Course fees at $10 per course must be paid in advance. Registration and more information at 281-316-0768."

In anticipation of the Fourth of July, here's info to plan... July 4th Celebration will be held on the Fourth of July at 2-10 p.m. in Baytown's Bicentennial Park, located at 1001 Market St. in Baytown. South Main Baptist Church is holding Fitness classes on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. "Classes meet for kickboxing, body sculpting and more.
