I know, for those of you who are watching the annual new year’s parade today, in the OTHER Pasadena, are thinking “there’s another one out there?” Ever called 411 for information, and had them give you info in California because you forgot to add Texas at the end of Pasadena? It’s happened to me, one time too many.

So, for all of you our there that didn’t already know this, there is a Pasadena in Texas. We’re situated right next to Houston and are home to some of the most important refineries and chemical plants in the area. We are the second largest city in the Houston metropolitan area, second only to Houston itself.

But don’t take my word for it, or at least not all at once. I will be covering Pasadena topics in the upcoming “issues” of PasadenaBlvd.com to acquaint you with who we are, what we are and why you should take notice.

Today let me direct you to the municipality, the city government of our little town. Visit The City of Pasadena, Texas online to find out about city services, locate the heavy trash pickup schedule or obtain a copy of the Parks & Recreation schedule of events.

Visit the Pasadena Public Library Web site, which offers online tutoring, a variety of free online book clubs, and an ability to search their catalog to find materials.

Want to contact the mayor, city council or any of the city’s departments? Start with the city’s Important Numbers Web page to find phone numbers and email addresses to help you find who you’re looking for.
